hey everyone, bought my first zook and cant decide on tyres. i want to put 15/7 -13offset sunnies on it because i love steel rims and i think a little weight at the bottom will probly help my stability no? i crave the 80mm tough dog lift pretty bad but i dont think i can afford it... might just get a 50mm from somewhere for half the price/effort. what i wanna know is, with a 2" lift, can i fit 235/75/15 m/t's on those rims without scrubbing under flex? any personal experience stories would be apreciated. |

save money & buy the lift kit you want, then buy tyres to suit... might take a bit longer but at least you won't be buying stuff twice |

x2 ^ Get the lift kit you want and maybe some second handies until you can afford brand new tyres. Tyres were the first thing I bought and once I did my body lift I wanted bigger. Lost about $400 selling my tyres with only 2-3k on them |

Agree with what the lads say here, lift 1st etc. I initially wanted the TD 80mm lift too, but heard that the springs/shocks were a bit harsh a ride with our little cars. Ended up with 75mm JimnyBits lift (ES1000). HEAPS cheaper and very happy with the ride and flex. particularly happy with their radius arms, i recommend getting new poly bushes if you get their arms though. It eliminated my wobbles after i put them in. many blokes have this combination on here, dont think anyone has a bad thing to say about the quality of the kit. I went with 215's to stay on the legal side of things. Plus i didnt want to cut the guards. Dont regret it at all, 235 isnt that much bigger. |

I suspect that with a -13 offset, 7" rims and 235's you will have scrubbing on the rear edges of the guard and also the front if you have the original plastic front bumper and the lift will not help that. There was another case of this only recently. Less of an offset will help with narrower rims but check previous posts for the details. |

thanks for the advice everyone. i'll save up for the 75mm i think. the height difference is nothing. but price i love. could i get away with 15/7 sunnies with no offset? even though i want that deep dish look its not worth scrubbing to me. ive ordered an ARB bar and hopefully hearing back from MICoffroad soon about their rear bar like Suzkboy has. i love it. |

Found the earlier post viewtopic.php?f=5&t=39179 This was scrubbing with 215/75 tyres but the wrong rims. It is just on the previous page by the way. |

Scales, do you have corrected arms? These will move the axle forward slightly and stop the rear scrubbing. With an ARB on the front there will never be any front scrubbing. |

yeah corrected on the front, JimnyBits like i said. rear is stock arms Ive seen people need to cut the arb bar in the wheel well all the time due to scrubbage. granted they were on 235 and up i believe. Yeah no scrubbing under flex Joel, none that i've detected anyway! managed to do some pretty knarly ruttage on the cape trip and a few other places without dramas. |

Hi Joel, 235s 2" and -13 will definitely scrub on big hits and when flexed. |

ah thanks zukenutter, i'll be getting the 75mm jimny bits lift, then i'll test fit some 235's with a little flexing here an there to make up my mind, then i'll either buy some or go down to 215's. thanks for the input |

Good choice on JB's one tip, get everything you want in one order.. postage is a bitch. I forgot something and had to make another order and it hurt a bit... so have a good think if theres anything from there you may want in the future. |

Scales's Jimny looks pretty good in person with 215s. Depends who you want to impress. |

I had the 235/75/15 on my jim with no lift, cut out front and rear inside guards, no hitting when full flex, just depends how much you want them to fit, nothing a angle grinder can't fix. |
