Took this bar of my parts car becaus i wasnt happy with my dogey homemade crap, looked good in the photos thats about it, it's roughly 3.5mm aloy it was a 6point cage but I took the rear section off due to I'm going to run a ute style soft top, my question is should i add a braces somewhere to retain abit more strength was thinking of adding a bar from the up right section in the cab back to the parts that come back at roughly 150mm above the tub. For a tie down point but a structural brace would be best. I'm sure fat zook will chime in and help here (I'm hoping anyway)
I'm guessing strongest option would be a top corner to bottom corner type deal.

unless the main hoop has a cross brace it is near useless

Something like that with a plate to bolt to the floor.

personally id do one the other way in two halves welded to the other one
form a cross. im not a fan of bolted braces but each to heir own just make sure they are rated bolts not hardware grade shit
