As the title suggests is it possible to get the lights to turn off when u turn off the ignition? ???

The simplest way to do this would be a relay which would break the headlight circuit with the ignition off. You would have the choice of wiring it into either the accessory or ignition circuits depending on when you want to be able to turn them on.
Im not sure if there is a roadworthy requirement of being able to turn on the lights without the key though.

Redarc do a 'Headlights On' system, comes on a few seconds after start up then turn off with the key. You've probably seen a few at work anyway. Do you want something similar to your Subaru?

I had one of these. Something went wrong with it and it beeped when ever you turned the lights on, then it got worse and just beeped all the time. :x

I was hoping there was a way to rewire it so its turns off like a subaru

Do you want it so you cant leave the lights on accidently or so the lights are always on when you are driving?

It would be somewhat straightforward to make it so the lights cant come on if the ignition is off, but I think that isn't legal

Something about parking lights being available all the time, if lights could only work with the ignition on, believe me they already would

What you want is an automatic setting for the lights, these work with the ignition but can still be manually turned on with the key off, so its a bit different and a lot more complex

I would say a DRL controller could work, but your lights will then ALWAYS be on with the engine running

A reasonable compromise might be to wire an ignition switched relay into the parkers, so they always come on like an old Volvo

Always on would be fine as long as the lights could take it

Get the Redarc system then. The lights will be fine. If you can't twist someone's arm at work to wire it up bring it over to me

A relay as suggested should work but the old 2 series Volvo's didn't use the parker lights as DRL's. They were a seperate circuit with their own bulbs.

something else to consider, a stock sierra alternator wont keep the battery charged at idle and low rpm with the lights on
