LOL. I'm not far off losing my back plate. Its the bit that hits first one I go up anything even remotely steep. I always come out of the tracks and bend it back down to vertical again.

i had the same problem so i riveted it to the bumper and put one of the number plate lights on it. i am making a new bumper/towbar at the moment and i will put the plate in the same spot.

Why not just mount it off your spare wheel carrier and run a cable for a light up there also. It's where i think mine will eventually end up.

I love the overkill bar they are just giving me the shits. It's been 3 months so far and 3 days for postage from Sydney to Newcastle. I have rung twice asking for the tracking number both times they have said ring back in 10 mins. not really after protection from animals mainly looks. If they told me wat was happening I wouldn't be complaining but I hate ppl not answerin the phone

Hey Jas, do you lose any rigidity in the front end panels when you cut out that lower support for winch clearance?

I like how the stock bumper fits back over it, that's a neat idea.

p.s. I've got the ARB winchbar on my zook and i love the look of it!!! The only thing is that you are restricted with what size winch you wish to run... They were designed to fit the Warn 6000 pound but also fit the Warn 8000 pound, but nothing bigger than that... 6000 to 8000 pounds is heaps for a zook anyways...

You've had no luck with Overkill Engineering? They still havn't refunded my $1,265 for for those parts i paid for way back in early October 2008, which they never delivered. They were happy to take my hard earned cash, but aren't keen on giving it back. I don't recommend anybody deals with them They do top quality work, but they have no business ethics at all...

whats wrong with an arb bar? they fit properly and work very well. most of the tube bars that i have seen offer no protection at all and would probably cause more damage when hit by an animal or pushing through scrub. my bar has been hit countless times and is still mostly straight, the only reason i cut the bits off around the headlights was because that was easer then changing the mounts after a bodylift.

here is mine the straigh bar sits like 10mm from the body and will do shit all if i hit anything. planing on modifying it so its sits a bit more off the car.

Not so much a tube bar as an 8mm plate 9500lb winch bar with tube outriggers. I made it so bumper can be refitted over the top to keep it looking stock if wanted. Funny now looking at these old pics. Car has changed so much since then. Jas.

I don't see why you have to be the one calling them back all the time either. I'd be paying Overkill a visit & demanding my money back. That's just not good enough, sorry

So im not out of pocket money wise but i work shift work and i have been waiting round for a bar to turn up that who knows whether its actually coming or not. They say it is but cant believe wat they say they cant even answer a phone. So lookin at new options. If it turns up it might take me 3 months to pay

Made absolutely no difference as the front clip is supported by the body mounts which are either side of the piece I removed. Jas.

Hey guys... i can't believe it I just checked my bank accounts and Overkill Engineering have fully refunded my money... I'm stoked!!! However, the situation has left a bad taste in my mouth... It's cost me heaps more to get the axles now because of the value of the ozzy dollar. I'm happy because my little truck will be back on the road either late this week or early next week. If you guys ever need parts from the states i recommend using locktup from WA. Chris has been awesome... I have nothing but praise for them... They are extremely proffesional... totally the opposite to Overkill. It took locktup just under 2 weeks to import my double tough front axles + cv's from the states and i'm expecting my rear calmini axles in the next couple of days. I'd been waiting for my axles from Overkill for nearly 5 months and after much frustration i asked for my money back. It wasn't easy to get my money refunded either... So guys, please learn from my mistakes... Owning a zook or any 4wd is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. This whole situation was just pure bad luck. I'm only posting this up because I don't want any of you guys/girls to have to go thru what i've been thru dealing with unreliable suppliers... Do your research before ordering and paying upfront for parts / accessories. There's heaps of info on 4x4 forums in Oz about suppliers and different products available. If you guys wish to use Overkill Engineering, do so at your own risk... i can tell you that i won't be using them ever again p.s. I've got the ARB winchbar on my zook and i love the look of it!!! The only thing is that you are restricted with what size winch you wish to run... They were designed to fit the Warn 6000 pound but also fit the Warn 8000 pound, but nothing bigger than that... 6000 to 8000 pounds is heaps for a zook anyways...

oh thats a suprise, good to hear you got it all back. still no luck with my bar. yea i dont mind the arb bar but would have to modify it anyway, and not worried about a winch. hopfully it will arrive soon if not i havent lost any money just time. so thats a bonus.
