Just wondering what is the best way to get more power out of a vitara 16a?

a properly tuned carb, extractors and exhaust system would help. I've seen a few g16a's running an after market performance cam. I think you are pretty limited with getting more power out of them. You could always put a weber on it with some head work and squeeze some more hp out of it but I think that will hinder offroad performace.

given your motor is over 20 years old id start with a compression test, and see how much power it has lost over the years
