Tried searching but can't find anything on it. As per title, i've heard that raising the height of the transmission tunnel allows the transfer case to be raised out of harms way without doing a body lift, is that right, if so, where do you cut the tunnel out (as in how much needs to move?) and how high do you move it? I have the whole interior out at the moment as i'm fixing some rust spots etc so would be a good time to do it for future proofing the shitbox. Looks like the handbrake drum is the lowest thing below the car, and looks like it would need a fair lift to get it above the chassis. Rich |

Transfer needs to go up about 40mm to clear the bottom of the chassis. Are you running a Roctoy ring or gears? You will need to lift and widen and then revisit you seat rails as they'll need to be repositioned. All doable but quite a bit of work. |

Hmmmm didn't think about widening it, and then the seat rail scenario. I have jeep wrangler seats which are already quite high. Sounds like a pain in the arse. No transfer cradle etc, first thing I'm doing is the interior rust fix & new seats Is it worth it? Does a body lift negate the need to do this? Rich |

If you're fitting new seats it should be ok, just check the width. I like to lower the seats in sierras to provide more head room. Just have a look, maybe a different seat will work for you better |

It's a steel ring that attaches to the casing bolts thereby reinforcing the case to prevent Low range gearing tearing the case apart |

You lot just reminded me to order a roctoy ring! I messaged him the other day and forgot to actually order it, fairly cheap insurance in the long run. I never had a problem with 6.5's and 29's but stepping it up to 33's may load the transfer up a bit more... |

Iv done a tunnel lift to fit a tcase lift and rocktoy ring .. there's a bit of work in it but not as much as u would think. If u spent a little more time at u could make it more stock looking , Here's some pics:)    Not the neatest job but if u took more time it could turn out way better, also take care to double plate were suzuki did as well |

Can anyone please tell me what they did with the cross member thing above the flange going to front diff? Is only about an inch away. Circled in photo (sorry about the crap photo) Also, what about the handbrake? Mine is only 45mm from the tunnel top now, if I raise it 40mm I won't be able to get my hand in. Rich |

1.3lt chassis go under the shaft. Yours is obviously 1.0lt. Others have notched the cross member or you could do a custom gearbox mount. List seems to be getting longer |

If your worried about the Handbrake drum put a wt trasfer in and have the handbrake hooked up to the rear wheels.(Pls Dont Cut A nice looking Ute Cab, They're Too rare  )

I'd prefer to keep the handbrake on the trans, it's the handle its self I was referring to in terms of clearance to the raised tunnel. As for not cutting it, we'll see, going to check up how hard to alter that crossmember first. Rich |

Much easier to fit a body lift and completely reversible. Go buy a body lift from az business section, then get some 50*50 rhs and some short bolts and make a set of transfer lift blocks you use the normal transfer rubbers just bolt the rhs blocks to the transfer or chassis mounts with suitable bolts. or buy a transfer lift when you buy the body lift. |

Doesn't. This is still on the cards, and when I do it I'll write it up, the gearbox mount things is a pain in the arse though as to weld it I'd need to remove the cab. |

Make a bash plate that clamps on with ubolts or brackets. Its going to be more legal than cutting and remaking that crossmember |
