I've got a g13ba in my garage I'm pulling apart and I'm having Trouble removing the crank shaft because I can't remove the crank Pulley bolt at the front. Any tips on how to get it out? |

The outer pulley comes off by removing the 5 little bolts. Then you'll need an impact gun to undo the centre bolt. You may be able to somehow wedge a pry bar onto the flywheel and use a breaker bar on the crank nut but I don't like your chances |

Possibly try and ratchet strap the engine down to a work bench and get a mate to help you. One on the flywheel as mentioned and one on the centre nut |

Get one of these, best $80 I ever spent. I use it for anything and everything. Don't know how I lived without it.... Well slowly, painfully and with much swearing. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/240V-IMPACT- ... 114wt_1271 |

reconnect your starter, there is a diagram in the factory service manual showing how to test the starter on the bench with jumper cables.. then do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zybilegox1U explained in length http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G-adEVjfWI have yet to do it on a suzuki but it worked on my sisters hyundai (engine spins same way) just bump the starter. I wish i had of known this a few years back when i was pulling apart a junk g13a. i had used a long tube and breaker bar and a block of wood inside jamming the crank.. even after all that it was not easy |

Had the same issue recently when replacing the head gasket. Used a blow torch to heat the nut then impact gun. Sure it stuffed the seal behind it but this was replaced anyway. |

Not having an impact gun, I used a length of flatbar drilled 2 holes closer to one edge for the bolts then used a file between the 2 holes so that I could get the socket on. ![]() The ones on the right. |
