I have cooked my handbrake. Transfer case mounted unit.. Have removed tailshaft. Is the drum just located on the studs like most rear drums or do I need to remove the centre nut and dismantle whole unit. My manual only shows rear wheel handbrake. |

Yes, drum should be loose. Give it a tap with a hammer |

Both the handbrake drum setups I have are different to that. On mine the drum locates on the transfer output spline and the tail shaft bolts straight to the drum ie no flange. |

Yep. Remove tail shaft then centre nut and a bit of wd40 on the spline and the drum should slide off. |
