Hey guys,

I have just fitted a 2" body lift
I have been searching for any pics of peoples intake after fitting as my intake pipe is currently squashed against the body.
Will a bit of flexi pipe be enough to get around the body without fouling on the body or crushing under the angle?

I'm a bit confused- normally the hose between the air filter and the carb hat is the one that gets squished when a bl goes in, due to the angle change, not because its in contact with anything.

I think steve125 posted photos of his fix for this. (Lifting the carb hat) others have just put hose clamps around the hose to help it retain shape.

I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about though.

The inlet hose changes diameter along its length so using flex hose isn't a good option.

If you need to lift the carby hat to take the kink out of the rubber boot between the hat and the airbox, then you can use a common female to female sewer connector, I used a Vinidex DWV straight coupling code #55280 I got from Bunnings, you will need to cut this in half, I also put some silicone around the top of the carb and a rubber washer between the connector and the hat to give it a good seal, can post pics if needed.

I did a step by step on how to mod your 1.3 carbi hat to suit the 2" body lift

first remove the carbi hat
you will need a piece out of a vs commodore air box see pic remove the piece using a allen key be careful not to rip the gasket as you will need this

hold the piece over the carbi hat, mark & drill holes

place gasket over carbi hat and using original allen key bolts and some 8mm nuts bolt unit together

you will end up with something like this

then remove the stud on top of the carbi

you will need a long bolt like this

bolt it on the carbi

Image

and connect the air box

then your all done

Good stuff Jimbo...

Can I just add that petrol resistant Loctite should be used on those 4 nuts. Would hate to see one come off and get ingested.

or conelocks my personal favourite.

ohh and you either have massive hands or they are m6 nuts not m8 ?

That's what I was after, sorry i wasnt clear, posting stuff from a phone whilst not actually near the car is a major PITA haha
