I am wondering how much nitrous can a g16 can handle for short bursts without loosing too much reliability. The motor is in a lj based buggy with a aw4 auto atlas transfer combo, I'm not chasing huge horsepower but some extra punch to help with bumping up ledges and to help with clearing the tyres on mud runs would be great.

I reckon a 30HP shot would be safe. Maybe 50HP???

Thanks for the reply I think I will start with a 30 shot and can always upgrade the jets if I find it isn't quite enough to get the torque converter spinning quick enough for a decent launch

Shep has done the research on this for his POS. Maybe flick him a PM and see what he discovered.

I ran a 75 shot on a g13 for 3 years , tried a 100 shot and the engine didnt like it at all . your best bet would be to get a variety of jets and experiment on a dyno to check afr's . i had a full set of jets ranging from 35 shot to 100 shot with jets to lean and enrich in between and did some extensive testing on a "private track".

one thing to remember with nos you must be at full throttle and doing 3000 rpm+ before you hit it otherwise this can happen .. bit of a too soon junior moment. I ended up running a full throttle switch on my accel pedal with a button on the steering wheel in series so you had to be at full throtttle to activate it. the zex kit had a tps activated computer for this but it was a piece of unreliable shit .

when i first started playing with nitrous i got a lot of good info from these guys http://forum.nitrousexpress.com/ they were mega helpful.

also nitrous is very addictive and fun (but dont inhale it the automotive grade contains sulphur , 3 parts per million ) the most fun you can have with a normally aspirated engine . sometimes i was filling up 3 times a week at $130 a pop for a 11 pound bottle so it can get quite expensive.
