You will have to take the kingpin caps off (4 bolts top and bottom of swivel hub)and remove a shim IF there is any there.
Otherwise it's time for new bearings.

Howdy All,

Can any one tell me if you need a bearing press of some sort to remove/replace the kingpin bearings from the kingpin? or do they just pull apart.
Ive done this job on my nissan patrol once b4 but never actually removed the bearings from the kingpin and the bearing was well and truly jammed on there, so would this be tha same story on the Jimny's?

Cheers
Timmo

You shouldn't need too much pressure to get the bearing off the kingpin. It's not pressed on there so if it won't come off it may be rusted on there or something like that. I'd try setting the bearing into a vice and carefully hitting the kingpin out with a pin punch.
