Ive tried searching but cant find any info how to remove a jimny gearbox.
Ive got every thing undone, but i cant seem to get the box far enough back past the cross member to Alow the bellhousing to clear the clutch.
Does any one know the best way to remove a non vvt jimny gearbox .

Normally the pull back and twist over eitherway...

Not sure that will work for you, but you might have to rock the engine forwards and backwards to get it also.

Unbolt engine mounts and lower the motor. It's a bitch

yeah i've heard some people need to pull the engine forward a touch with straps or something too!
Let us know how you get on, I may need to do my nonvvt soon too!

maybe this will help

remember if you have enough access to the breather on the gearbox, chuck a hose on it! this will probably be the only chance you get to put a decent breather on there.

push the gearbox to the rear and remove the clutch. gearbox will then just drop out. refitting is the reverse. I used a mirror and torch to align the splines with the spigot bearing
