Hi AZ,

I'm about to get some new lines made up for a vitara power steering setup in my sierra. I bought the setup from a member on here, I've now run into a few issues with the lines and fittings. The fittings on the hard lines do not fit the steering box and the highpressure line banjo which goes onto the pump has been cut. I'm just wondering if all of these fittings can be bought or would it be easier to just run these fittings from lowrange?

On the box, the lower one to the right is high pressure.

As per hoses, just get a return hose and few clamps, maybe an ebay cooler if you intend to punish it etc.
Hose can also be used for reservoir to pump line.

High pressure, id probably just get one made up of hose, with the correct fittings on.

I did my best to use the hoses on the vit pump etc, and had to gently bend (with pipe bender) the high pressure hose line to fit.
I tired the low pressure first and fucked it, but learnt how to do the high pressure one.
Im replacing the low pressure line with hoses and a cooler.

I cut both sides of the high pressure hose afew inches from the end then got a hydraulics place to add 1m of high pressure hose between them. I got a pic somewhere.

They welded on a threaded fitting then added a right angle on the High pressure hose. It also swivels to align it properly to go in the correct direction.

thanks guys. So a hose place like enzed would be able to supply the fittings which screw into the high and low pressure outlets on the steering box itself? Because the hard lines which were given to me don't have the correct fittings for this vitara steering box and pump, so I can't cut them up and have hose put in between.

Yeah, enzed should have them, or be able to get them in.
Might cost you a bit for new hoses with crimped fittings etc, but better than shonking it.
Also makes routing lines easier, and when workng on things later u can move it out of the way, without disconnecting the lines etc.

FIY they use those metals lines to assist in cooling the fluid, if you run hoses both sides, its possible you will cook the oil without a cooler fitted.
