Am considering installing a set of 4.16 Lowrange Gears, how hard is it to install yourself?
Have a spare transfer that I am going to put them into so not in a rush.
If I attempt it I am going to take pics on the Digital camera as I dismantle so I have reference when it goes back together.
Any tips or pointers?

The gears come with full instructions. They are pretty easy to put in. First set I did took about 3 hours and that was with a lot of checking and double checking each step.

Remove the speedo drive before man handling the output shaft haha.

I got all the bits n pieces, but no instructions
Just found the instructions for the 6.5s @ Lowrange and printed them off.
Should be a pretty good guide

You'll more than likely need a press to get the new bearing on but other people have just used a hammer and got away with it
A second pair of hands is always helpful

+1 on press. I waited until supercheap had them on special before rebuilding my case. their 6t one works fine for the job. may need a bearing puller too, depends how tricky you get with the press.

Must say me and my brother inlaw knocked my rebuild out in a couple hours including dropping the case it's not hard..... Just need use brains hahaha

Another couple of tools you'll need is a 3/8" 13mm socket, couple of plates of 10mm plate and a piece of pipe about 10-15cm long which will need to slide over the shaft so you can press the collar

While it's all apart, make sure you tap the breather hole with a 1/4" BSP tap and put a 90* elbow for a breather
