I don't have a diff problem , but I have heard that when you change the gears in transfer case it can give you rear diff problems. I have 31" and just changed the transfer gear (6.5:1) it's such a big differents love it ! So any feed back ? |

Because of the additional torque provided by the new gears, it makes the whole drive train more susceptible to breakages. Have you braced and strengthened your t case and mount? If not, it will be the first thing to go. |

Thanks , would you think it would stand up to road use , being lack of time and money to hit the dirt now. |

I've had mine in for a few months now, and to date no probs. I think it partly depends on how you drive. I'm starting to turn into a bit of an old fart now, and I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere now, so gone are the days of flogging the crap out of my car. I'd like to fit something like a mighty kong transfer case mount, but like hardknocks, money is an issue at my household at the moment. |

I ran 6.5:1 transfer gears with no problems for about two months. Then I fitted a spool to the rear diff and still no problems for another month. The thing that bent and broke my transfer brackets was Silverstone MT-117 Extremes. Too much grip for the stock bits.. Replaced them with a Spidertrax set.
Been great ever since even with front air locker..(12 months) |

Spoke too soon, have a oil leek from the rear drive shaft and hear small knock would you think it's from the strain or the asshole that rebuild the rear diff. Any gear to strengthen it up or is it (were and tear it off and rebuild) |

I got an oil leak from the pinion seal on my diff shortly after the rebuild too, but I blame that on the mud and crap I drove through on a trip a day or so before the leak occured. I've replaced the seal and hav'nt had a problem since. |
