I have a 1999 baleno 1.6 efi engine in my sierra I cleaned down the engine as it was dirty now it's running on three cylinders Buy the sounds of it What I have tried to fix the problem New coil packs New leads New spark plugs Done a compression test and all cylinders are putting out the same The only thing I came across when I unplugged one of the injectors it didn't change The idle of the engine... But the other three did Any one have any ideas |

Have you got spark on that lead at all? I can't think of anything else right now although if you definitely have spark on that cylinder and no firing then maybe the injector on that one is crook? Too late/tired/pissed to be of more assistance right now. Was it running properly at all? EDIT: By crook I mean blocked/dirty/unplugged e.t.c. not just broken, check lots of stuff, think about what you need for it to be working and see which of those things is missing. |

If you suspect an injector, try a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank. Did you pressure wash it, maybe you blew off a wire somewhere. Water problems often dry out themselves, but there are good dewatering products that don't short out electrics. |

If it was running fine prior to washing it then it's probably some water in a connection somewhere. You could let it dry out or blow some compressed air into the connections around the engine bay. |

I've put new leads. Coil packs and plugs After it started to play up So they should be fine |

Fark I'm half pissed now but clearly that's better than tired and pissed from last night. You would laugh but once upon a time my ex washed the engine of her car and then it wouldn't start next time she tried to start it, after checking a few things I pulled a plug to check for spark, hmm no spark, wait a minute, the freaking coil lead had popped off but not far enough to actually come off the coil... Check everything meticulously one thing at a time and you will find the culprit. Good luck and don't forget to let us know what it was! EDIT: and when you say I've replaced this and that it should be fine, check a second time and have a really close look, you wouldn't be the first or the last to overlook something tiny like my example above because it looked ok on first visual inspection. |

Well, if you plugged out 3 injectors and it affected the firing of the engine and 1 injector didn't, a check of that injectors wiring and failing that, replacing the injector would be a good place to start? You could have blown a fuse somewhere as well so check all those as well. |
