Hello, i have a 1995 Suzuki Vitara. V6 2.0L LWB with a H20a Engine. (ask if you need more details) I have jut bought a front and rear diff to UP my ratio to 5.12. I managed to get the rear diff out and the new on in, although it took me about 6 hours just for the rear. Was wondering if anyone could tell me or show me a set of instructions for taking the front diff out, and putting a new one in? I've been looking around and i cant find much. Even if you could tell me where i could find a Workshop manual for the car, that would be great. Thank you. |

Pretty much same as rear, axles have to come out, so centre can be pulled. Don't slide front shaft out of transfer case, or its oil will fall out. Left cv/axle is just 3 bolts on a flange. Right is a pain to get out, as it slides into diff. You can do it in car, or pull whole front diff and do on the bench. I'll let a V6 owner add details, as things may differ. |

Undo the 4 bolts to the front tail shaft thing, then undo the 2 bolts that go into the crossmember holding the rear diff bracket in place (Might need to take the whole bracket off the actual pinion housing). Next undo the 3 bolts on the Passenger side CV shaft/axle. Now there's a couple ways you can do the Driver side CV... You'll need to take the strut and tie rod end off, then try and pry the CV out of the diff. If you can't do that then take your hubs off and also the circlip that holds the shaft into the hub. Then undo the diff drop brackets and get under and try pull the diff out sideways so it leaves the hub. |
