rear diffs the same?

is a rear diff centre out of a wide track the same as a rear diff centre out of a narrow track
apart from ratio.
ive heard some people say somthing about axle splines?

looking to put a wide track locker into my narrow track if possible?

Same 26 splines..
Same complete centre, except NT is 3.9:1 and WT is 3.7:1
WT locker will go straight in to a NT centre.
