DTC No. = code flashes eg P0130 1 flash followed by a pause then 3 flashes. repeated 3 times for each error. |

Suzuki use the same protocol worldwide, EOBD or OBD2 is actually an 'extra' feature in markets where its mandatory and is limited to the legal minimum capability. Australia mandated EOBD in 2006. |

rhinoman is 100% correct , cause he knows his shit . any code that can be read by manual flash codes will only be displayed as a 2 digit number |

OBD scanners are a funny thing and im not as learned as rhinoman in these sort of things but i can tell you this . I have 2 scanners , one is a $350 cheapy and one is a top of the range up to date $12000 scanner with 11ty million keys and adaptors for any car on the market. the protocol both scanners use are different , the cheapy scanner will only work on vehicles 2005 onwards , will not work on every vehicle , but will work on most and display the data you need to see what the problem is . the expensive scanner will work on any car that doesnt have manual flash codes available , but would not hook up to a 1.9 tdi vitara recently (even though it was updated for that specific reason) yet the cheap scanner nailed the issue. |

I stopped in at Super Cheap Lawnton Grand Reopening on Saturday. Bosch had a little tent there offering free scans, and they said "Bring your car in". Half hour later, they gave up after finding no Jimny or engine type to suit, even when doing a wide scan. Needless to say, my car drew quite a few people keen to know what I had done to it. |
