What precisely do you need explained to you?

Truck is probably the least odd thing you'l see on the compliance plate of a Sierra.

it means you can run big chrome stacks & a mack bulldog on the bonnet with heaps of clearance lights.

suzuki's got all sorts of things on compliance plate, soft tops as utes, hard tops as vans & wagons, utes as utes & the list goes one

It's an SJ413T.

Guess what the T stands for?

Originally any two door utility or tray was known as a "truck". Land rover utes are referred to as "truck cabs"

Nothing strange at all.

Think yourself lucky it's not complianced as a 4seater carry van. It's been known.

I think you're extremely lucky. Rumour has it the 1987 Sierra truck was only produced for a few months - just prior to the Vitara being put together on that production line. It featured a couple of improvements on the 85-86 models. If you've a good example you've got a top vehicle. Any pics?
