Hi guys, I have some questions, Question 1, I have a sierra transfer i want to put into my jimny, can it be done with out an ARO kit? Has anyone botherd to try? Question 2, the sierra transfer i have has a drum on it for handbrake. Can i just use that handbrake instead of the one on wheels? Any help would be great cheers EDIT by a Mod: Readability. |

I dnt know if anyone else have done it. But, youll need to design and fabicate the new mounts to adapt the case plus find a way (i dnt know how) to fix the speedo. Its not really worth it, unless u have the skills, the tools, the time, and want something to challenge plus the ora kit is not that expensive. Just save a bit of money and buy it |

Ive just done it and Ive made a jig to make them I can make them in 1 of 3 different ways depending on what gearbox your running ect ect, Im in Brisbane too so not too far from you. For my conversion I moved the transfer forward 30mm to give more room for the sierra Front tail shaft to bolt in the rear and more room for the factory front jimny tail shaft to clear the gearbox cross member that is part of the chassis, also because mine is a 2008 my gbox output shaft spline was different to sierra so i had my factory Jack shaft shortend 90mm for $160 (can get it done cheaper though). I also moved it up higher so that the bottom of the transfer is above the bottom of the chassis rails just. I'll be putting photos up in a about two weeks (Im heading away tomorrow for a weeks holidays atm) Kyzer |
