My newly built G16B is a bit difficult to start when left for a while and cold - difficult by way of it needs a few cranks, it sort of cranks then spits, cranks then spits, then cranks then spits then cranks then perfect.. It's almost as though it's got low fuel pressure and needs to build up before it's all happy - my fuel pressure guage is reading about 40PSI so it's ok. ANyone else had this type of thing ??? |

What happens if you let the pump prime for the 3 seconds before you hit the starter? Better? Was that the fuel pressure gauge reading after its been siting prior to starting? |

I had similar problem, I suspect fuel pump is my problem as it only happens when I jam the key in and turn over without waiting.... Lots of people have commented that its normal, but mine was taking in excess of 5 seconds..... If I jump in, turn key to ignition on and wait for the click.....then start...it starts first pop every time. Yours sounds a little different given it splutters, mine just didn't fire... Try what I do to see if it makes a difference, mine would do it hot and cold |

Once the car has started, it's fine thereafter - hot or cold. It's just the initial start. When you crank it sort of tries to fire then dies - It only started after I adjusted the lash settings, although this may coincidental |
