Hey guys. had a wheel alignment and some new rubber put on the front of my Vit. The tyre guy says that he's fixed the wheel alignment but there is a bit of play in the steering wheel and mentioned it might be a list of things tha could be causing it. The car also is pulling to the left but not alot. Tie rod ends? |

Could be that. Could be many things though. Jack the front up and wiggle each wheel side to side and you should feel if there's any play in the ends. |

Has the road got a lot of camber in it as I think some leftwards tendency was normal under such a condition? |

If you paid for the wheel alignment I'd ask for you money back. They should have checked the whole front end. you can't do an alignment if tie rods etc are worn. |

A few years ago I put new tyres on a Pajero (Cooper ATR's) - the car started to pull to the right on acceleration. The wheel alignment was done and it still pulled right. I swapped the front wheels over and it then pulled left. After a process of elimination I found one of the tyres was different.. the tyre company denied it so the dodgy when on the spare carrier. I think it may have been a different compound, or batch or something ... but it was different and had a different rolling resistance ... Maybe you have something like this ? |

Mine pulls to the left a bit most of the time, but it varies with the road and will pull to the right when I'm on RHS of two lane sections, so some of it is the car following the camber of the road. I haven't yet got around to looking at all the tie rod ends, etc, in the front end. Let us know if you find anything definite. |
