I'm writing this in the event the same happens to someone else in the future and needs some technical reference to refer to. Last week i had a customer bring a SQ625 vitara to me that would not start after replacing the 12v battery , the check engine light was flashing with ignition on which indicates immobiliser problem . ecu diagnostic code 12 normal , immobiliser diagnostic code 23 , ecu not communicating with immobiliser. I sent the ecu off to be repaired along with another ecu from an escudo that was faulty .. no injection pulse. Both ecu's were sent back to me , the escudo ecu had leaking capacitors , it was repaired and plugged back in the car and worked fine . the SQ625 ecu no problems found. A quick internet search displayed a thread on a forum where i had posted a reply in 3 years ago with OP posting they had to get both their ecu and immobiliser replaced , i replied that i have had 2 vehicles within a month apart that had the same problem and that replacing the ecu and getting them recoded to talk to the immobiliser and key worked. well i have no shame in admitting that i am wrong when im wrong , but it was just a matter of a recode on a tech2 scan tool that fixed the problem , so im thinking the 2 i did three years ago just needed a recode ... |

Good work, maybe this can go in good tech as a permanent reference, add a few extra keywords so it comes up when people are searching for the same issue? |
