Hi all. How have you run the wires to your roof mount lights on a jimny? Just putting two light bars on my roof basket and wondering how you ran the wiring. Cheers.

I am interested in this as I would like power to the rear of the roof but don't want to butcher the roof with holes that will no doubt be a problem for leaks / rust.

up the inside of the A pillar & out the antenna assembly, you'll have to drill a hole in the plastic bit of the radio antenna & run the wire along the roof to the roof rails.

or drill a hole where the roof rail feet are & run the cable up & out of there, just seal the hole up properly which ever way you go.

I drilled a hole through the pinch weld at the rear door and ran the wires through there- run an extra wire up there just in case you need extra power the you can just hide it in the conduit unused until you need it. Then paint the exposed edges let it dry then fill it with sikaflex or silicone of some kind

Ran wires from the batterie to a fuse block then through the fire wall grommet to switched in the dash then ran all the wires under the trim to the back and up through the roof. Pull back the pinch weld seal to get to the metal and drill through that then once the wires are through you can silicone it up and put the seal back over it. I did it this way because i was running power to lights front and rear on the roof so i would need to run that much wireing anyway. this way keeps it hidden and protected. Then for the earth you can run an extra wire or you can earth it to the bolts for the roof rails. Been over a year no leaks or wire problems.
