Just thought I might ask if anyone has replaced there own rear main seal in the G13BB. seems mine was starting to leak. So I bought a non genuine seal for $25. Fitted it over the weekend and it seems to be leaking again...... After all the hard work I do have a nice clean gearbox under the car! Any thoughts on the seal side of things? Should I have bought a genuine seal? If someone in the Raceview area like to have a look see (help) I'll be removing it again this weekend to fit another seal if i can get one in time. Cheers, Rob. |

Genuine all the way and also make sure you push the bastard in to far. Had the bloke working for me knock a rear main in just a smidge to far on a vitara and the fucker leaked oil as soon as it was backed out of the workshop. Pissy is not the expression used that day (I put the replacement one in myself and no issues just made the bloke work for a day to make up for it!) |
