So it rained from 5am till 7pm at my place yesterday, and now the clear coat on my door has bubbled. It had some little bits flake off a while ago, so now the moisture can get in underneath it.

If i was to get all the flakey bits off, could i spray the area with clear to reseal it or will it wreck it?
I need to stop the moisture getting back underneath

Sand the flaking clear coat off with really fine sand paper e.g 500 gritt lightly. Then just re-spray clear coat over top.

you can't do that as the sandpaper will disturb the metalic under the clearcoat.
you need to lay at least 2 coats of base coat down first before clear.

and you should never paint a metallic base over anything courser than 800 grit wet and dry 600 for solid colors

A bit of a grave dig,

but the sierra I just bought has proper fucked clear coat, possibly paint all over the roof and bonnet. I am no spray painter and never got into tagging up alley ways with some fully hektik graf shit so is my best bet to just take it to a spray painter?

or can I just leave it looking ugly?

Anyone have any idea on how much it would cost to paint the bonnet and roof?

Fine flap disk + plus 2ltr of protec flat olive and it would be fixed ish

about $45 for one can one primer and 2 cans of colour,
take the time to prep it properly and it will be fine,
hit youtube for some advice first

a. 1500 grit wet/dry and sand with a dribble of water to keep the paper from sticking and gouging. Get a decent clear coat and spray for a reasonable outcome.
or
b. Sand as above, Cut and polish, polish and then seal

Doing this over metallic colour will all depend on the colour (dark colours will show a lot of imperfections).

Of you can do what I have done, sand it back with the 1500 grit to remove the flakes and smooth off the edge, apply cut and polish, polish then apply CQuartz. CQuartz is a nano level ceramic coating and lasts for ages plus makes the water shed off super fast.
