Post subject:  Vinyl Install Help?

Anyone able to give me a couple of tips on installing vinyl flooring please? I bought some “moulded” flooring from a carpet mob but the profile did not seem as contoured as the old carpet that came out and I have struggled with the section that goes from the driver’s seat to the rear seats. I have pinned one edge by installing the rear seats and used a heat gun to try and work the creases out. I currently have the corners next to the tranny tunnel weighted down and will return with the heat gun to try and reshape it some more. Any ideas?
Also wondering if anyone can suggest a good type of tape or moulding to run along the edges to try and stop sand and shit getting down the sides – obviously need something with some long term durability.
Cheers

Did you send these pics to the 'mob' you bought it from?

No, haven't sent any pics. I may have to try and get in touch with them if I can't get a better fit, was just hoping there may be a few tricks to help along the way.
Not sure about the underlay question, this is a Vit and had the standard scrap cotton type matting.

Yep, I knew what I meant, which was I have underlay - I'm not sure about Jimnys.

Ok, this seems to be getting sidetracked - I have a Vitara, it had factory underlay. Has anyone got any tips on massaging/stretching/working the vinyl into place and any ideas to seal the sides please?

OK my mistake thought it was a Jim..

Anyway.... without underlay in strategic places you will never get it to fit really nicely.

Yeah, I have done full underlay, the problem I have is the shape of the moulding - too much material in some places and too little in others (the back seat foot wells next to the tranny tunnels are too tight for the vinyl to contact the floor).
Cheers anyway for thoughts so far.

Wherever the vinyl won't reach the floor needs more underlay. The rest needs less.

try using a hairdryer in the spots that don't mold, It might be enough to help.
