Hi all i have a 2008 jimny, i have already upgraded to: bfg muddies, xrox bar, dvd head unit and am about to install a 3" tough dog lift, black sunraysia's, dark tint and eventually lockers. i used to have air lockers on my old rangie and i swear by them but they are a little out of my price range atm. wanting some info/pros and cons and also best brands of the auto lockers thanks

Brand: Spartan (Sierra one will fit your rear diff I think)
Pros: No adjustment in the locker itself (can be a con) Cheap You can still steer while 'locked', and when you need it, its locked
Cons: Banging noises (i don't mind the clicking) increased tire wear I absulutely hate it when it doesn't unlock and drags my muddies Increased play in the diff
Price: Around 250 plus freight from Low Range Offroad
Considering you have a nice newish jimny I'd put it in the front (power steer, and no noises on road) or possibly save for an ARB.
These noises scare other road users and pedestrians

I have Spartan front, and Lock rite rear auto lockers in my 93 LWB Vitara. The lock right rear has been in for over 5 years with no problem. The front Spartan has now been in for nearly 2 years, no problems. The Spartan was an easier install and looks to be a stronger build. The major con for me is driveline slack in rear. Front is fine, but the Spartan is newer. If I could afford it, I would Air Lock the rear. But that would never be within my budget.
Have no experience or knowledge on Jimny options. Jimny is lighter and shorter than my Vit, and handling etc may differ to mine.

Pretty sure you can't get an auto for the front. Either way you need chromos as the stock CVS will go bang in an instant.
