I have a stock 95 leaf sierra and a 1.6l efi vitara motor and four speed auto to go into it. I will be running one transfer (stock 1.3) and standard diffs with 29" tyres. By my rough calculations the gearing will be to high because of the standard sierra diff. What would be the best gearing solution for this. Leaning towards changing diff ratio. Sierra is used around farm mainly but does go on road and beach. No extreme offloading. Cheers |

Nope, gearing will be just fine. A stock vitara runs a 1:1 high range and a 5.12 diff and 27" tyres 5.12/27= 0.189 A stock sierra runs a 1.409 high range and a 3.7 diff. 1.409X3.7= 5.21/29= 0.18 High range/on road gearing will therefore be almost identical to that engine and gearbox in a standard vitara. Low range will be lower than in a standard vitara, which is a good thing. Steve |

Thanks that sounds great. Was not quit sure of the vitara gearing. Needed someone with a bit more knowledge to confirm. Cheers |
