I removed all of the interior except the dash, I've hosed out all of the accumulated crap that lived under the seat, and let it air out for the past week.. But my farm fresh Ute isn't smelling fresh, it still reeks of sheep shit and hay. I chucked in a couple of air fresheners, but I think they're fighting a losing battle. What are some tips on changing the smell of my car.. (geez even I think this is a weird question to ask hahaha) |

A few years ago the place i was working at bought a hilux that went into a pig trough, and it flooded the interior, it stunk! We removed the entire interior including dash, and hosed it out with truck wash. Then bought another interior from a different hilux. Thought all was good till the first hot day, then it reeked! All we could really do was spray it with autoglym odour eliminator every morning and night, and it gradually got better. Sorry i cant anymore help lol |

Did you put the old carpet/vinyl flooring back in? If so you have to make sure the underlay is bone dry before putting it back in. If a car has been flooded and the carpet on top is dry the underlay will stay wet for ages, leaving that wet musty smell. The smell could also be coming from your a/c system. Use some sort of odour eliminator like fabrise put the a/c on recycle and spray the spray in the intake vents. Also wouldn't hurt to spray your underlay with it too. |

Pull out the heater box and clean it. Flush out all the ducts. I had the same problem with piggles. Steve. |

Mine was the same, stripped the sound deadened bitumin shit off the floor, stripped the whole thing and painted everything, now smells like paint but ok though. |

I removed the vynil, no sound deadening or underlay. It doesn't have a/c. I didn't hose out the vents but I'll give that a try. I'm hoping not to remove the heater, because it's such a fun job to do. |

Febreeze the crap out of it.. It did wonders when I flooded the XL-7.. Used a Wet and dry vac to get most of the moisture out and then Febreeze'd the crap out of it for 3 days.. (The Carpet was not in the car.. It was all out.. complete Blastard of a job..) No smell any more... |

If it came off a farm the heater will probably be choked with grass seeds etc any way. It rally doesn't take that long, and you can fit mesh to the cowl vent whilst you're at it to prevent it being a problem again. Steve. |

Steve. x2 The plenums are always full of leaves, sticks, mud etc, cleaning it out is a must. They usually don't drain properly either because they're full of crap. It's not too hard to pull out the heater box and ducting, would be a full afternoons work though. |
