The time has come to replace the old shitty standard suspension in the family wagon. Looking for advice on what lift kit I should put in. The plan is to see some of australia with the mrs n kids whilst towing my camper trailer behind. Any ideas on what would be best value for money. I looked at the calmini kit but im unsure how well that will go towing an extra 800+kg with the boat ontop of the camper. Any help an advice would be great
Thanks

Nic

i'd be interested to see here what people will reccomment nd suggest.

straight out of the box, my first thought would be king coile / tough dog shocks!

have always been a good combo on my zooks. but unccertain as per the weight requirement / ride comfort your after also. so this should be good to see what people think :)

Dobinsons, plenty of different spring options depending on load carrying + they also have extended travel struts, unlike the 2 listed above.

Dobinson without a doubt.
I had the 40mm kit fitted and it has done wonders to the handling and offroad capability.

If your going to go touring I recommend an FTS Snorkel and bash plates..
The XL7's transfer is relatively unprotected.. Its just begging to cop a rock..

The XL-7's are a capable touring rig once they are given a lift kit.

Yea snorkel is on the list. Ive looked at dobinsons website. Defently sound the go for the front but not sure on rear springs as it only lists light load on website. Anyone got any oda gear?

Mine has oda gear on all four corners. More than happy. Haven't towed though with it cos I sold that toy. I got a full kit that had the Rancho rear shocks. Mine is now more than capable as a tourer and the difference in ride is amazing.
