hi guys i have just replaced my broken maf sensor with one i got from the wreckers and the check engline light is still on. I have pulled the error codes and it is error 34 (maf sensor). When i try disconnecting the battery, pulling it out, and cleaning it with maf cleaner and put it back in it works for a few seconds when i first start the engine then the CEL comes back on. Please help

Is it the same with the old sensor eg good for a few seconds? Might be a problem in the wiring or one of the connectors.

no the old sensor has been broken for months. you can see where the old one is physically broken

you don't have a friend or someone with a vit who you could swap the sensor over just to check. I've been caught out when replacing something which is fautly with a new part which is unknowingly faulty, can really throw you off track.
