Found this gem for the fair price of $4500 today. is an 88 NT owned by an old fella. Has a custom made canopy with rear seats (mod plated) new breaks all around. Fair size tyres and wheels that i cant remember the size of. New dampner, bucket seats, duel fuel tanks, sony speaker system. needs a re-spray but not bothered by that. Just want to know is it worth it? i am after something with a good lot of 4wd potential. How do they compare to the SWB (just sold my shorty)? are they as capable or not? would i be better off with a jimny? |

Well it looks good, but there's only so much you can tell from a couple of small pics. What's the hood ornament? A LWB with WT diffs on NT spring spacing is top of my Sierra buying list... 2nd row of seats is a bonus... but that's just my taste. Only you can really decide if it's worth you buying it. |

But how legal is that Darkhorse? being in Queensland and on my P's i don't want something i will get pulled up for every time i go to work. Hood ornament is the Mac dog. old fella got it as a gift from Mac because he brought a fuck load of trucks in his day. |

That's cute. Keep it. Call the car Mack. Not sure on legalities of NT spacing, but plenty have done it. It's a completely inconspicuous mod if you get hold of some WT flares and if you're really fussy you can change rim offset to compensate. I'd be more worried about the inevitable RUF chassis extension you'll want to do... oh wait, that's me again. A Queenslander with more interest in your regs might be able to advise. |

Looks like a QR car. If its clean and not rusty and good mechanical condition I'd pay around 3 - 3.5. Sounds dear but a good sierra is a good car. |

mate I brought mine for 5 and it had rust and ended up spending a lot on repairs. But the time I just had on fraser was priceless, worth every cent. No rust and good mechanical condition is hard to find in older sierras. You will have to spend money maintaining it repacing the older engine parts etc.But if you love it go for it looks good to me. me 2 cents |

IMO there is no comparison between LWB and SWB, LWB is the go, all the way, far far superior, go for it, you will love it, price is fine. |

Not sure about on your p plates but you can definitely get the wt diffs mod plated so if you want a lwb go for it. Everyone seems to think lwb is the best thing since sliced bread but I'm yet to see a direct comparison, that will come when my swb and a mate's lwb are both finished. |
