Hey guys,

After my last wheel the handbrake has not been working. I have finally gotten around to looking at it and from the outside it is packed full of mud.
I have just pulled the drive shaft off but I do not have a socket big enough to get the cover off. But I did notice the rubber bung in the back.
From my understanding it is just a drum brake on the transfer, meaning I can just wash it all out through that bung hole?

Is this the point of having the bung there?

Cheers,
Adam

The bung is for adjustment of the shoes.

No reason you can't shove a hose, or compressed air in there. You won't get much out directly, but with persistence, you might loosen it with enough water, so that it drains out slowly. Use a high pressure water blaster if you have one.
