I have purchased a new project zook.
A lwb Holden drover ute. Narrow track 1.3 ltr.
It requires a blue slip in nsw but have few questions for all the smarts people.
I intent on a g16b with 4 speed Vitara auto. Fresh suspension all around Diffs etc etc
I am more worried about being able to engineer the engine/trans setup ready for Blueslip.
I am familiar with what has to be done in the build but not the legalities.
Has anybody gone through this recently and Hve any pointers.?
I am speaking with an engineer next week but wanted other experiences to relate to.

You've already done the best first thing - talk to an engineer. So much of the legalities are subject to the certifying engineer and their interpretation.

Depending on the details of what you are planning you shouldn't have a problem with G16B and auto.

if you do the conversion neat enough i dont think any coppa will pick it up if u get pulled over

Hell yes.

Unless it's the same model engine going in (therefore not a conversion) it is classified as a significant modification and therefore requires engineering. To get the engineers cert processed you need to get a blueslip done.

It's usually only about $150 so not ridiculous, but better if you can avoid paying it twice.

Yeah dark horse that's the way I see it. At the end of it all , it's going to be huge rubber, so I want everything else hunky dory.
G16b and auto all listed, plus the brakes etc so I will see what the engineer will say, was more looking for someone with an engineered auto g16b and what things were picked on. Cheers boys.
