Post subject:  Winch on the rear

I was thinking of mounting the winch I recently acquired on the rear of my LJ. I havent seen many fitted but it would suit my rig better if I could mount it there and run fairleads to the front for forward winching. After the pros and cons of this idea

A mate has a High mount winch behind the front seats in a ute chopped LJ with a tube and a type of fairlead at the front. It's a good idea if you can take the time to make it work well.

Mine is going to be behind the tank at the rear of the chassis. I'd be interested in some photos or what fairleads he is using

From what I've read u want min 900mm from drum to first guid
if running rope most just flare a seamless pipe and run it fro
there to the front with nice easy bends then run a donut fair lead at the front

It's a small tube donut.
