Hey
I am trying to get a transfer mounted drum brake apart to replace the shoes.
My understanding is pull the tail shaft and centre nut then drum off.
I am having a prick of a time with the nut behind the flange, the nut looks like it has 2 tabs that lock it in place but
no amount of effort will shift the tabs or nut.
Is there a trick to this that I am missing?

The 'tabs' have been punched in, I think I used a small screwdriver to get behind them and push them out when I did my transfer.

The are very very tight.
I had to use a pipe over the handle, and push with both feet, to get mine off.
Sometimes the tabs need more lifting than expected.

Rattle gun helps even that you mite need to get a bar and pipe out

No worries, wasn't sure whether to just lever the hell out of the tabs or not. Will get a rattle gun on it at work tomorrow and try again.
Cheers
