Hey I am trying to get a transfer mounted drum brake apart to replace the shoes. My understanding is pull the tail shaft and centre nut then drum off. I am having a prick of a time with the nut behind the flange, the nut looks like it has 2 tabs that lock it in place but no amount of effort will shift the tabs or nut. Is there a trick to this that I am missing? |

The 'tabs' have been punched in, I think I used a small screwdriver to get behind them and push them out when I did my transfer. |

The are very very tight. I had to use a pipe over the handle, and push with both feet, to get mine off. Sometimes the tabs need more lifting than expected. |

Rattle gun helps even that you mite need to get a bar and pipe out |

No worries, wasn't sure whether to just lever the hell out of the tabs or not. Will get a rattle gun on it at work tomorrow and try again. Cheers |
