Hey guys, I have an interesting little query/question that i would like to ask. I currently have a Jimny running a TD80mm lift kit due to my standard suspension dying/sagging insanely haha Now, I want to change my suspension setup around and was wondering if i could go back to standard spring (no lift) and use the 80mm lifted shocks? Im not sure wether this would work, obviously not great, but just until i make some dollars to get some new shocks. So would this work? or is it a stupid idea? Thanks, Joel |

I think we worked out that the TD shocks for the 80mm lift wer too long to work without bumpstop spacing. Steve. |

So if I am understanding correctly they are usable as long as I work out the bumpstip spacing? Thanks for your help, Joel |

Correct. Otherwise you'll destroy the shocks from bottoming out. |

You might even find the 80mm shocks will run out of compression on the road as the shock will shorten itself by 4inches. A loud thump will be noticed first. Ignoring it will lead to broken shock mounts. |

And as the shocks work to keep the coils in place during articulation, without relocating cones on the springs mounts (or Landrover-style limiting straps), your springs could fall out with the longer shocks allowing more droop. |
