Hey yall,
Just got my exhaust done on the vitara.
Headers, 2inch pipe, highflow steel cat.

I duno if Im getting old, but the things too bloody loud for me. its so drony and loud. it will shit me driving for 2 hours to my camping/hunting spot.
Not sure if I should wait a week and see if Im ok with it, or take it back tomorow and get them to shut it up a touch.

whats the go, resantor, or another muffler?

they've tucked it up nice and high so I have no clearance issues with it, so thats cool.

Is your muffler a decent triple flow or a homo straight through?

I'd say homo straight through. With a cat and a triple flow noise is normally fine.

Resonator wont help you much for overall sound. resonators are there to stop the resonance in the exhaust, essentailly they help keep the exhaust the same volume throughout the rev range. I removed the resonator on my old 4age in place of another muffler (so 2 mufflers, no resonator), it was great, except for 1300rpm, 3300rpm and 5300rpm. (aprox values, this was years ago) was REALLY loud at these rpms, but quite reasonably at all other rpms.

Id just take it back and say you arent happy, and see what they can do for you.

Thanks fellas, Taking it back tomorrow to see what can be done...
Either a New muffler or an additional muffler.

I'm not sure what kind of muffler is on there. When it comes to exhausts I'm a little airy.

Does it burble/crackle? My old vitara had a 2" exhaust and straight through muffler when I got it and it used to annoy me, added a hotdog in it and it stopped it. Mad it alot more comfortable.

Nah it doesnt burble or crackle. Its more of a Drone. It sounds great on idle, just enough to know its there but as soonn as you accelerate its bloody lound and droney. Kind of like my wife. Sometimes.
