I have a swb vitara and got done by cops for no modplate for body lift. I searched around but it's mostly before the new laws, the cop told me all I need to do is get blue plate and take paper work to dot and not have to go over pits. How would I get modplate approved do they simply write it out after checking it's safe or will it need to be put through tests. Cheers |

You just need to get an approved person to inspect and fit the blue plate. |

Price depends on who you use, about $100 - $150. As the body lift is pretty simple there's not much to check, might just check size of the block matches the body rubber and the fasteners are high tensile. |

Ok cheers, just checked over it and found front left was loose. Pulled headlight out to tighten it and it's snapped flush with chassis. What is best way to get it out |

How much thread is in the other side? If it's long enough, get two locknuts tightened against each other or weld a nut to it and take it out from underneath. |

Can you get a drill to it? |

It is actually a tad down in the hole so no chance of grabbing it and the body is in the way to use a drill otherwise I'd use easy outs Have no idea how to pull it out |

Only suggestion would be a pneumatic right angle drill or one of attachments for a power drill and get it from the top |

Its a nasty problem. The way I've seen it done is to cut a flap out of the side of the chassis, weld a new nut in place and then weld the flap back up. |

i had this happen with mine but it happened the 2nd back from the front on the drivers side (under pedals) had to cut a hole in the floor and cut the bolt out and weld in a new one. Shit house job. |

The fixed studs can be very problematic if they let go |
