Post subject:  Painting anodised aluminium?

I've got an aluminium panel that i'm looking to spray with a rattle can. It's black anodised aluminium. Not sure if I have to get rid of the anodised layer before I can prime and paint or if I can just go straight over the top. What's the 'correct' process?

Costic bassed oven cleaner! Or draino pulls anodizing off fast!

Will still need to etch prime it to get the paint to reliably stick to alloy

Oven cleaner did a great job of pulling the adonize off! Etch primer and top coat and i'm good to go :)
