Hey all I was out wheeling and the steering went on left side for some reason took to mate who is mechanic for army he said that might be steering box any thoughts turns full lock to right but only half turn of wheel to right any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

It's possible that the steering shaft spline has slipped and jumped a spline on the box input. I've seen this before on a Sierra. |

Bent rod? either steering rod or panhard rod. |

Cheers for replays guys I'm a little bit mechanically challenged so forgive me if this sounds dumb. If it is cv will it only make clicking sound in 4x4 no sound when hubs are freewheeling |

Only if its worn, if its busted it will make very little sound and be super clunky.... |

Hi, I have the same problem but turning to the right is the issue. I can only get half a turn on the steering wheel right, but a full lock left. What was the problem? CV joint? Bearings? King pins? I don't know where to start looking. Thanks for any help |

Thanks for the reply Watermouse. Your right. It was the cv joint. My cage had completely shattered. I would upload a picture but I'm not sure how  (on iPhone)Thanks again |

I had a similar steering problem ok the Jimny up until a week ah, pulled the steering dampener and it's fixed now. My wheel allignment is now out again which sucks... |
