Whats best way of getting a clutch cable out of a 89 swb vitara ? Need help asap

My manual says to disconnect earth from battery first, not sure why, up to you if you do this.

Mine is a 95 swb, dunno if there is any significant differences.
Start by undoing the adjuster nut/s at the clutch release arm end,
remove cable from all brackets/clamps between release arm and firewall, follow cable by hand if you can't see it all the way,
undo 2 bolts holding cable to firewall,
disconnect clutch cable hook from the clutch pedal,....and it should come out.
