Hey I'm new to the site. I just purchased a LWB 85 Sierra which has narrow track. Just want to know if it's worthwhile converting into WT, and are there any other ways to gain extra stability through wide muddies? any info would be great cheers

Welcome to AZ.

There are a number of advantages to fitting WT diffs. They are 100mm wider so there is added stability there, you can get chromo axles and CVs for them and because NT spring spacing is narrower you increase your leverage on the springs, reducing roll stiffness and potentially increasing flex.

To fit WT diffs you need to cut the spring perches off and weld new ones on to suit the new spring spacing. There are people on the forum who can do that for you if you can't

NT spacing & WT diffs for the win. There are all the benefits sideways mentioned, plus, for the most part, all of the after market axels are made for WT.

Thanks for your reply guys, you've been very helpful. So you guys suggest keeping the same spring spacing but replacing them with springs that support WT diffs? Can anyone suggest any places I can get the parts I need, Cheers

Springs are the same between nt and wt. The difference is the width they are apart from each other. On a nt they are under the chassis, on a wt they are outboard of the chassis. This makes the roll stiffness higher which reduces body roll but also reduces flex when off road.
