I have set up a thermo fan on my LJ with 16b, ATM the there is just a manual switch. I would like to redo the wiring so it is temp controlled with manual override. I thought I could just use an earth switching temp bulb on the earth side of the relay. What I need to know is what temp bulb I should get. |

Have a read through Gwagensteve's build thread of Hedgepig. I really like his solution for temp-switching thermo fans. It definitely beats the usual Davies Craig type probes you have to shove into a hose somewhere. |

I've had a read and recon I could get a bulb that will switch at the correct temp rather than build another electronic component that could be damaged in the elements. Steve originally had it set at 85 then 95 so I'm guessing I should find one that goes off at around 95. |

Im guessing, but i reckon the temp should be set relative to your thermostat opening temp, eg 85 deg thermostat = 95deg fan 95 deg stat = 105 deg fan etc |

Tridons website should have details of fan switches and how they operate Something I like about some switches is at temp they go open circuit rather then earthing so you can wire them up so if the switch fails the fans stay on, not the engine overheat. |

Get one suited to (or from) a Baleno G16B, then you'll know it runs at the right temp - that's what mine's from. Steve. |
