Hi. I have a 1.3 94 model sierra.
The engine seems to be weeping a little oil from the head gasket. No milky oil in the cap to suggest the head is cracked or anything just the oil running down the motor.
How easy or hard is this as a job. Do I need to have any work done to the head or can I just replace the gasket. I was planning a 1.6 upgrade in the future so don't want to spend a fortune on this engine.

Where is it leaking? Is at the back under the distributor?

Seems to be passenger side near the front.
Gonna clean it up and check tomorrow.
Just noticed it this am so threw this up in case anyone had done one recently and used a guide.
I've got a Haynes manual so can have a go.

It's not over heating yet just weeping oil.
Will check by the distributor as well.

Anything I need to be aware of in doing this.
I may yet chicken out and get it to a garage as its not a simple job but I'm so keen to have a go.

Did the last head gasket on a g13a in 2.5hrs. Easy as! Follow the manual and you'll be right.

Typical cleaned the engine up and run it no obvious leak now.
Was quite pleased as way to hot today to work on the car.
Will put it under load tomorrow and see what happens

Might sound dodge but check the head bolt tension. Retention them in the correct sequence and torque Asper workshop manual.
