Hi, Ok I've got a lwb rear tub section that I'm planning on making into a camper trailer with a rooftop tent. Just wondering what size chassis and drawbar would be recommended? The tub is already quite stiff with the 3 supports that run underneath like all suzuki tubs. I'm thinking a 50*50 framework under the tub with a larger drawbar mounted under this? Say 70x50. Given the tub already has horizontal supports I figure none are needed? If they are maybe light angle? Thanks |

Any idea what the tub weighs? By the time you cobble up a rolling chassis to bolt it to, and load it with your camping gear it will be pretty hefty. I think this has been talked about before and a few of the points bought up [that I can remember]- Recycled tubs are pretty heavy compared to a regular trailer, Centre of gravity is higher [I think] There is less usable room than a regular trailer. But, I reckon if you wait for a few more of the crew to pipe up- someone will have better info than me- and I am pretty sure that more than one zooker has done this already. stephen |

Tub is easily lifted by myself, so I assume about 60kg, either way that's what I want to use |

Yep those sizes are pretty much right on the money. To save a little weight you could use 2.5 or maybe even 2.0 wall thickness rather then the usual 3 |

This is my next project too. I was also worried about weight but it is the look I am after so I will see how much I can chop out maybe replace bits with fibre glass ect |

The tubs aint heavy once chopped off. Dunno where it comes from that they are heavy? So any thoughts on if I'd have to brace horizontal across the square chassis ill make or would the factory cross braces under the tub be enough? |

I'd put a couple of braces in there just to be safe seeing as it's going to be used off road. Take pics as you build it pls  do you still have your red trayback?

50x50x2.0 for the chassis/frame then 100x50x2.5 for the draw bar. Make the draw bar around 1800ish long and have the draw bar start 1/3 of the length down the chassis/frame. This will make reversing easier. Helping my neighbor with a similar project atm expect he's using a HX tub from a Ute
