Any help on this would be appreciated! So starting the car from cold, the choke going I can put the zook in first and drive no worries, as soon as the engine warms up the car idles fine in neutral, press in only the clutch still idles fine push the gear stick into 1st (or any gear) and the zook stalls, restart the motor in neutral idles fine, rev the zook above 2000rpm and can put it in any gear no worries. I don't know of any condition or switch activation that happens when put in gear but obviously there must be! I have searched many a sites and can't find my issue... Thanks for any help you can provide! |

theres no switch activation when you put it in 1st , but ive had similar issues with a switch on the clutch pedal before , but its when you go to release the clutch it stalls , you can get around it by making a jumper wire for the plug that goes to the switch on the pedal bracket. as far as im aware the switches on the gearbox only operate the egr valve solenoid in higher gears , but if there is a concern there you can disconnect all the sockets to the gearbox bar the red and yellow , which is for reverse lights. give those two things a shot and report back. |

I can push the clutch in and out no worries. The moment you push the gear stick and it goes into gear, engine stalls. No clutch movement. |

Clutch needs adjusting. Check that the cable hasn't split. |

When driving and down changing I need to heel toe as when it's in a gear it won't idle. Because it does this down changing it wouldn't be a stretched clutch cable that semi engages causing the problem. Thanks for the suggestions tho! I'll disconnect and loop the switch tomorrow, however I'm not sure what it will achieve. Keep you posted! Cheers, Craig |

So I pulled down the calb and found that the throttle screw was screwed right in and the idle screw took 2.5 turns before affecting the idle... Something I should have saw... Thanks for the tips guys, the restoration from a paddock rust heap is now back on track! Now time to battle the rust, panel welding isn't my strongest point.. Cheers, Craig |
