Have another look at the swift one. As far as I know only Sierra ones fit. Maybe Swift if it is a G13 block? |

Mine died not long ago, got it reconditioned and fitted for $200. Had a go myself [visually] but decided to get someone with small hands to do it for me. They even sprayed it silver! |

It would only be the front housing that would be different, so by swapping the guts over it should be the same. |

No swift wont fit Have alook at the older lancer, Thinking 1st coupes and the boxy hatch type before that. Carbie model Sierra starters are mitsubishi brand, So i went straight to the source Swift starters are denso or something. I used the internals to fix my starter, But they looked the same. I snapped the slip drive gear doova thingomobob Best bet would be go to a wreckers with your starter, and see what they have got, or pull some out. Whats wrong with it anyway? There's only like 5 parts in a whole starter. Can't go wrong if your alittle mech minded. Clean all, grease up swing arm doova and spline, Wack it back together, she'll be right. Unless the electric motor is worn/gone.. That makes me think, My starter makes a weird wirrr noise after its starter the motor |

Ok definately find parts only. If the wreckers will let u have the solinoid only.. Its a simple job Try cleaning it out 1st! Stand on the housing and make it activate/work with some jumper leads and extra wire for the ignition switching, should be ok.. Before you put it back in the car!! Just in case. |
